Source types
| Source | How it is detected |
|---|---|
| Hostnames | The address a Minecraft player connected with |
| Tracked links | Roblox launch data matching a campaign link |
| Referrals | A Roblox player who followed a friend |
| Teleports | A Roblox player arriving from another place |
| Discovery | Roblox joins with none of the above |
| Creator codes | A session re-attributed by a code |
| Direct joins | Everything else |
How a join is matched to a source is explained in How players are attributed.
First touch
A player keeps the source of their very first session as their first touch. Revenue they bring months later still traces back to it, which is what makes cost per player and return on spend meaningful.
